TRX training (Total Resistance Exercise training), conceptualized by former US Navy Seal Randy Hetrick, evolved into a fitness regime in the early 2000s in the United States, and gained popularity by the end of the decade. TRX training involves suspension exercises using specialised equipment to improve the body’s strength, flexibility, balance, and core stability. The major factors that contribute to the effectiveness of TRX training are your body weight and gravity. Suspension training also translates in the most effective engagement of your core: you cannot possibly do TRX training without engaging your core. While this is one of the most effective forms of training, it is also one that poses maximum risk of injury if done unsupervised or with inadequate/improper supervision. Few gyms in Pune offer TRX training as a part of their services. Very few gyms, however, have qualified and certified professional trainers for this niche form of exercise. Requiring individual attention and competent supervision, TRX training should not be attempted without proper training, planning, and supervision.
